Discover Tango Woman Ballet
The Story
A contemporary Ballet that illustrates the different choices a woman takes until she finds her true self. Luna is one woman and four women, all at the same time. Her story is a reflection of the problems that face today’s women. Through her four different journeys, Luna is able to fight and overcome her fears, slowly building her inner strength as she takes control over her own life.
The Music
The musical score was composed especially for the Ballet by Jose Teixidó. Throughout each of the four journeys, or chapters, we hear the different rhythms and genres of Latin-America with a special focus on the music of Argentina, the composer’s native country. Each of the chapters has its own rhythms, atmosphere, and mood that, together with the choreography, illustrate the story.
The Documentary
This is the documentary of Tango Woman Ballet. A team of filmmakers were with us throughout the creative process, from the initial casting until the premier of the show. How do you create a ballet production from scratch? What happens during the intensive rehearsals as the date of the premiere approaches? What are the dancers’ experiences throughout that process? These are some of the questions explored in the documentary which will be premiered in 2020.
